Greetings Friends!

My name is Vanessa Sampson-Schneider. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a National Board Certified Counselor, and a Gottman Leader for the Seven Principles of Making Marriage Work Couples Program**. I am excited to offer the opportunity for partners to learn more about one another and leave the retreat with tools that will improve how they manage conflict and create shared life goals.
About Me
I am a queer identified cisgender African American woman and use she/her pronouns. I have engaged in extensive training to effectively treat mental health and substance abuse in LGBTQIA2S+ identified persons, BIPOC folx, femme-identified persons, active-duty military personnel, and veterans.
I am a therapist at Grimes Effective Counseling in Huntersville, North Carolina. I provide counseling services to individuals and couples. I offer in-person counseling to folx located in the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area. I also offer telehealth counseling to folx located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

As a therapist, I provide Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention (BCBT-SP), Feminist Therapy, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), and utilize the Gottman Method for counseling couples.

My goal, as your program leader, is to create a safe and secure environment where we can effectively collaborate and work toward partners learning one another's worlds, building friendship, effectively managing conflict, and creating shared meaning. I am looking forward to working with you.

**Please note that I am not an employee of the Gottman Institute and offer the Seven Principles Couples Program independently.**
